| A friend of mine, a rookie firefighter,
was left alone at his post in the station house. After eyeing
an unmarked button on the wall, he pushed it to see what
would happen. No bells rang, no lights flashed and no one
reacted so he pushed it again. Wondering why nothing was
happening, he pushed the button five or six times in rapid
succession. This time another firefighter came running in.
"What do you think you're doing?" he shouted.
"You've got traffic all backed up outside!" The
button my friend was pressing controls the traffic light
in front of the firehouse and is now labeled as such.
